Tips on formatting your EventsNow emails

Formating Text

There are a few easy ways to end up with the best text formatting. One is to compose the the text right in the text window and use the formatting icons in the toolbar above. If you cut and paste your content from another word processor, like Word or Pages, use the special clipboard located near the lower right hand side of the formatting toolbar . If you're cutting and pasting from another program, like Adobe InDesign, paste the content from that word processor into the other special clipboard located near the lower right hand corner of the formatting toolbar. After you paste the content onto one of these clipboards, just click the 'insert' button in the lower left hand corner and in it goes. Once inserted, you can use the formatting toolbar to make formatting adjustments.

Note: If you want to add a bulleted list, add the text to the page first and then use the formatting bar in givezooks! to add the bullets.

Formating Images

You can insert images into the text editor, but only images that are on the web (not from your hard drive). First, click the image icon (tree) , then insert the URL where the image is located on the web and include a description of the image. You can adjust the size and alignment by clicking on the ‘Appearance’ tab. You can also insert and edit html or embed code by clicking on the media icon (film) and then inserting the file/URL and the dimensions you need.

Adding a signature image

NOTE: Signature images, like any image that will be inserted into a text box, must be available on the internet; they must reside on an existing website. Copy the location, URL, where the signature file resides on the internet. In the givezooks! text edit window, click on the 'insert image' icon (tree) . Paste the URL into the field where it says, 'Image URL.' Click on the 'Appearance' tab. Change 'Alignment' to 'Left.' Set the width (left box) to somewhere between 150 and 250 pxls, depending on your image. Click the box next to 'Constrain proportions.' Click the 'Insert' button in the lower left corner. If you want to type the person's name under the signature file, be sure to add three empty lines below the file, by keying 'return' three times and then add the person's name.
